Make the most of the Easter Weekend

With two bank holidays and a good chance of sunny weather, Easter's a great time for family and friends to gather at their nearest pub or restaurant. The secret to a profitable Easter lies in preparation, marketing, and great food.

Get ready

Your Easter plan will depend on your client base and the space you have available. If you live in an area with lots of families, why not put on an Easter Egg hunt in the morning, with a family meal to follow. If the weather is looking promising, advertise your beer garden, ales and ciders. And if your customers love a party, put on some entertainment to make the most of the fact that they don't have work in the morning.

Say it loud

Internal posters and external A-boards are a must for spreading the word. Make sure you refer to any great deals, and say if you are taking bookings. If you're hoping to attract new customers, consider newspaper and radio advertising or social media marketing.

A roast to toast!

While the traditional Easter breakfast consists of eggs (Cadbury, not poached) and beans (aka Smarties), when it comes to lunchtime, something more substantial is needed.

A glorious roast dinner should be at the centre of your Easter offering, with perfectly pink beef or tender lamb, a great range of healthy vegetables, and plenty of crisp tasty roasties. We work closely with farmers to bring you great quality meats, so you can be sure that our rib of beef and leg of lamb will go down well with customers.

To save you time, we're offering some great resources. We've pulled together a list of essential catering supplies, portions and costings for two main meals: roast rib of beef with broccoli, chanteray carrots and green beans, or leg of lamb with parsnips, cauliflower cheese and carrots.

We've even created an eye-catching menu, which you can customise to suit your business. You'll find all this on the 'Price and Promotions' tab on

Cheers, M'dear

A delicious roast deserves a top quality wine, so take a look at our Marcel Hubert and Yellow Tail ranges, along with our discounts on Chateauneuf du Pape, Banrock Station Reserve and McGuigan Black Label, available until 15th April.

Local ales are also particularly popular at this time of year (perhaps because Easter focuses on the countryside) so why not trial something new, like our Black Sheep and Shepherd Neame bottled ales.

We're here for you!

If there's anything else you need to make your Easter offering complete, chat to staff at your local branch, who will do their best to help.
