Allergy Awareness Week

Allergy Awareness Week, which starts this Monday 28th April, is a great opportunity to review the options you provide for allergy sufferers.

It can be really hard for Coeliacs, who must avoid gluten, to find good options at restaurants and cafés.

For many caterers, Coeliac customers can be an afterthought, yet 1 in 100 people in the UK are thought to suffer from the allergy, as well as many other people choosing to eat a low or no-wheat diet. Restaurants that provide tasty, interesting, gluten free options tend to develop a loyal following.

At Booker, we've made it easy for you to locate gluten free food products on our website, by grouping them together in one place.

You'll still see them listed in amongst your usual search results, but if you just want to see the gluten free options, simply click on the 'Products' tab, then the second box along (Own Label and Diet) and then navigate to 'Dietary Info' and 'Suitable for Coeliacs'.

Here you'll find everything from asparagus to mayonnaise, from pistachios to baking potatoes.

Creativity is the key to catering for allergy sufferers. If you've got a great gluten free recipe, we'd love to hear about it. Let us know on our Facebook page!
